Cheap Eats: Speedy Kitchen Clean up
I have to admit, one of the drawbacks to cooking dinner at home is the clean up. While I am trying to figure out what’s for dinner, I am also thinking about the clean up.
The number of dishes I need to prepare a meal has a big influence on what I am going to cook. I know it sounds silly, but when you have a limited amount of time, dishes are a big factor.
I usually serve dinner buffet style, which means make your plate and then sit down. I like to avoid any kind of deep frying. There is no easy clean up for hot oil! Plus, it’s not good for you anyway. I also try to wash and reuse bowls and spoons etc., while I am cooking.
I also try to empty the dishwasher and load it up again while I am cooking. It’s a great way to keep an eye on your dinner , and get the dishes done at the same time. Baking soda makes a great kitchen cleanser that you can use while food is still out. Plus, it works wonders on burnt stuff on dishes and stove.
To me, there is nothing more discouraging then finishing a great meal and having to spend another half hour cleaning up. I hope these tips help!
